Intertwined, 2023

Earthenware, glaze, spray paint.
16.5 x 10x 10 cm.

Intertwined is a series of ceramic forms that bring forth the concept of belonging and consider how we as individuals fit into modern society. Although it is sometimes a challenge to find our place, these pieces remind us that eventually we find ways to fit in and work around the people around us. Exploring the theme of belonging allowed me to create a range of pieces that interlock, intertwine and connect with one another. These forms were created individually but come together to explore how society works. They portray a story, exploring different ways of belonging and how these are ever changing.

I would like to thank Joe Crawford, Sam Gold and Belinda Guerin for pushing the boundaries of my art practice and giving in-depth critiques of my ceramic forms.

This work was created on Kaurna Country.
