Echoes of Solitude, 2023

Wire, chain, beads, found objects.

Dimensions variable.

Echoes of Solitude is a series of five photographs that explore themes of loneliness, isolation, and abandonment. In relation to isolation and abandonment, the collection delves into the sequence of affection from childhood experiences into the progress of maturation. Family complications were one of the reasons I pursued this topic. The panic of being forgotten and abandoned chased me throughout my childhood; although it might not be as clear as it used to be, “traces” will never fade. Taking influence from that, Echoes of Solitude reflects upon my position, where I cannot find a way to fit myself within a societal context. The photo essay aims to portray a sense of being excluded as well as abandoned through the language of photography, and the voice of my observation.
